The 2009 Urban Green Expo was a high water mark for the New York City green building community. With excellent educational sessions, a thriving exhibit floor and nationally recognized leaders like our closing keynote speaker Amory Lovins, it was a conference suited to New York City. One reason for the success of our inaugural conference was our focus on issues specifically relevant to our green building community. We continue this tradition of dedicated focus with the 2010 theme: Pushing the Envelope.
Building enclosures are perhaps the most critical, and an often overlooked, component in successful green buildings. Urban Green Expo 2010 educational sessions will explore a wide range of topics; from the broad performance issues of various envelope systems, to the application of passive shading systems in existing buildings, to technical subjects like thermal bridging and European standards like Passivhaus. Our educational component will also “push the envelope” metaphorically by addressing the importance of measurement and verification of building performance.
Designed to meet the unique needs of our the densely developed urban environment, Urban Green Expo 2010 will bring together a diverse array of building professionals for two days of top-level educational sessions, acclaimed speakers and green building tours.
